Visual Diary: Tory Burch Fall 2014

Tory Burch always manages to tell interesting stories in her collections, this season was no exception and we saw a tribute to the designer’s family and legacy: her father and grandfather were armor collectors, and this passion and the collection itself was the source of inspiration and reference for her Fall 2014 show. I went crazy over the accessories, I mean the earrings, necklaces and belts are spectacular! (you can spot them in some of the pictures I took during the show), another great move were the oversized turtlenecks, (that btw, I could also spot on other runways and I am quite sure that they will be part of the it pieces for the last months of the year) My favorite? The navy blue one, with the black cuffs and leather detailing on shoulders and sides.

The aesthetic of the show was vibrant, with rich colors inspired by the same theme and equestrian elements printed on chiffon blouses that were paired with more structured pieces, short skirts, dresses with plunging necklines in rigid materials, emblematic and embroidered sweateres and jackets, ensembles simulating armors with the lightness of lamé; certainly Tory Burch printed her aesthetics to add something sweet, delicate and elegant to a subject that -in theory- is bitter, strong and a little bit frightening. A styling tip that we can score on the list for next season is to wear wool socks above the knee with open shoes and boots paired with short skirts and dresses, I love how it looks!

With love,

Gina

Gina

PS. I found Bill -the leyend- Cunningham at the show and I couldn't resist myself to take a picture of him and share it with you :)

PD.
