NARS Fall Color Collection 2013: Makeup Tutorial

Yesterday I was telling you about the experience I had this week with the NARS FALL13 Collection... Today I want to talk to you more about this amazing collection and share a small tutorial I did in collaboration with Alex Ruiz 'Makeup Artist For NARS' and Danny Hernandez, Photographer. 

So, surprise! here you have the steps to achieve the FALL13 NARS look!

Francois Nars centers his attention in colors for this season, he attempts to develop a sexy yet strong look. Smokey eyes with intense shadow colors such as smoke navy (Kamchatka), moon gray (Namibia), maple sugar (Yamal) and deep blue sea (Bavaria). The makeup seeks to emphasize the eyes over a matte skin with daring colorful lips. 

So here it’s a simple ‘step by step’ tutorial to achieve the -main- look from the collection, this look it’s actually the one the model Toni Garrn is wearing on the ad campaign, the pictures were shoot by Francois himself. 

Ayer les platicaba de la experiencia que tuve esta semana con la nueva colección FALL13 de NARS... Hoy les cuento un poquito más de la colección y de cómo recrear el look para esta temporada, hice este tutorial en conjunto con Alex Ruiz 'Makeup Artist' para NARS y la fotógrafa Danny Hernandez. 

Así que ¡sorpresa! desde la comodidad de su hogar podrán lograrlo.

En esta ocasión Francois Nars centra su atención en los colores, para desarrollar un look fuerte y sexy. Smokey eyes con sombras intensas en tono smoke navy (Kamchatka), moon gray (Namibia), maple sugar (Yamal) and deep blue sea (Bavaria) .El maquillaje busca enfatizar los ojos, sobre una piel mate con labios audaces llenos de color. 

Les dejo un sencillo ‘paso a paso’ para lograr el look estelar de la colección que de hecho la modelo Toni Garrn lleva en la campaña, fotografiada por el mismísimo Francois. 

Step 1. Prep the skin with the 'Pore refining Primer' then apply foundation and concealer. Use 'Flesh Loose Powder ' to matt the skin and keep a natural glow.

Paso 1. Preparar la piel con ‘Pore refining Primer’ para después aplicar la base, el corrector. Sellar todo con el polvo traslucido 'Flesh Loose Powder' que matifica preservando un glow natural. 

Step 2. The look centers the attention in the eyes, so it's important to use an eyeshadow primer such as the 'Smudge-Proof Eyeshadow Base'. It's important to eyeliner the bottom part of the superior and inferior eyelashes, and then smooth the lines with a brush. 

Paso 2. El look se centra en los ojos, por ello es importante utilizar una base para que la sombra no se corra y dure más tiempo, la sugerencia es ‘Smudge-Proof Eyeshadow Base’. Es importante delinear las pestañas superiores e inferiores y después suavizar las líneas con ayuda de una brocha. 

Step 3. To add drama you can mix a creamy and powder eyeshadow. First you should apply the pen (creamy) eyeshadow just as the 'Calabria Soft Touch Shadow' over the eye in a half moon shape from border to border, then with a small eye brush apply in circles the 'Kamchatka' single eyeshadow to seal and add drama. It's important to also to define the eyebrows and add several layers of mascara. Add some blush to give color to the cheeks. 

Paso 3. Para un efecto dramático, se pueden utilizar sombras en lapiz (cremosa) y en polvo. Primero se debe aplicar la sombra de lápiz en forma de media luna en el párpado movil extendiendo el color hasta el puente del ojo para después mezclarla con una sombra en polvo con una brocha con pequeños círculos. Los ideales para este efecto son 'Calabria Soft Touch Shadow' y 'Kamchatka'. Es importante definir las cejas y aplicar varias capas de rímel. Puedes aplicar un poco de blush para dar color a las mejillas. 

Step 4. Give a final touch by using the 'Mysterious Red Velvet Matte' lipstick, you can also leave them nude for a sober look.

Paso 4. El toque final son los labios que se pueden enfatizar con un tono rojo como ‘Mysterious Red Velvet Matte’ o bien , dejarlos nude para un look más sobrio.
