"Grunge"

Biker boots and tartan are meant to be for this grunge outfit, a very popular style found in a lot of street style pictures these days; I kind of like the mood. 

The biker boots are really amazing, right? I searched for them for a long time, and although I found a lot of pairs -they are definitely an it piece this fall winter season- none of them really convinced me until I saw this Steve Madden pair. 

Once in a while I do enjoy wearing more relaxed outfits, although high heels will always be my favorite :)

El abrigo con cuadros escoceses y las botas estilo motociclista o biker boots, van muy bien juntas. El estilo grunge o “desalineado” es muy popular en estos días tanto en celebridades como en otros blogs de moda y estilo urbano; a mi me gusta bastante, siento que tiene mucha onda.

Estas botas son mi hallazgo del mes (las encontré cuando estaba de viaje) y la verdad me encantaron desde que las vi; ya tenía bastante tiempo buscando y aunque definitivamente hay muchas opciones en el mercado ninguna me convencía totalmente hasta que encontré este par de Steve Madden.

Es raro que me vista con looks “relajados” pero de vez en cuando si lo disfruto, aunque los tacones siempre serán mis consentidos :)

Macario Jimenez: Avant Garde

Last week I was invited to a brunch with Macario Jimenez (a very famous and talented Mexican designer). The idea was to take a close look to his SS 2012 collection "Avant Garde", to have the opportunity to chat with him and to discuss the ideas and perspectives of his collection. It was a lovely morning were we were able to really get involved with the collection, talk to the designer and be pampered with delicious food and wine.

A live photo shoot was also happening as part of the event. We all participated behind the scenes of the pictures that will be used for the season campaign. It was very nice to be involved in the whole process. Macario was very attentive and talkative with all the guests; he was also very aware and took care of all the details regarding the models and how they wore his designs.

The textures of the pieces were my favorite part. To me they describe the main points that Macario wanted to communicate with this collection: "romanticism, sensuality and sophistication, for a modern, avant garde and active woman".

La semana pasada me invitaron a un brunch con Macario Jiménez –talentoso y reconocido diseñador Mexicano- La idea del evento, era tener la oportunidad de apreciar de manera muy vivencial su nueva colección primavera-verano 2012 “Avant Garde” y conocer sus ideas y perspectivas. Fue una mañana muy agradable y realmente nos pudimos involucrar con la colección, platicar con Macario y ser consentidas con comida realmente deliciosa.

Algo que me pareció muy interesante fue que durante el evento, se estaban tomando las fotos que serán utilizadas para la campaña de la colección. Por lo que todos los asistentes pudimos ver el “detrás de cámaras” del shooting, creo que fue un gran acierto involucrarnos de esa forma. Macario, todo el tiempo estuvo muy atento cuidando cada detalle de sus diseños, así como del evento en general haciéndonos sentir muy cómodos.

Mi parte favorita son las texturas, creo que describen la esencia de esta colección: "que busca homenajear a una mujer vanguardista, moderna y en constante movimiento; romántica, sensual y sofisticada" Inspirada totalmente en la feminidad.

Fly Me To The Moon

The way I see it, this outfit sums up some of the trends of this season: metallics (in shoes, accessories, clothing and prints), catchy prints, neon and bright colors, big bows in blouses and classic tuxedo jackets (black, white and bicolour) .

La verdad, creo que en este outfit se resumen algunas de las tendencias para esta temporada: zapatos, accesorios y ropa en colores metálicos, estampados llamativos y arriesgados, colores brillantes y toques neon, blusas con grandes moños y sacos clásicos tipo smoking (negros, blancos y bicolor).

I'm Back

 

Well, I'm finally back in my loved Mexico City. Since my arrival my days have been crazy. On monday, I made the styling for the cover of a new Mexican magazine. The artist was the famous Ana Serradilla (I uploaded some pictures of the session in my twitter account). The pictures turned out really amazing; the outfits were very casual and natural but great.

I'm kind of unpacking from my vacation, so I wanted to show you my new babies, aren't they just amazing? I tend to buy shoes as souvenirs of my trips and this time these were my picks.

Finalmente ya estoy de regreso en mi adoradísima Ciudad de México. Desde que llegué, he tenido días de locura. El lunes, hice la coordinación de moda para la portada de una nueva revista Mexicana. La artista fué la famosa (y muy guapa) Ana Serradilla, fué un placer trabajar con ella (subí algunas fotos de la sesión en mi cuenta de Twitter). Las fotos resultaron fantásticas, la ropa fué casual y natural, pero con toques de originalidad.

Por fin estoy desempacando, así que decidí tomarle una foto a mis nuevos bebés, ¿No están increibles? Los souvenirs de mis viajes son siempre zapatos, así que estos dos pares fueron mi elección.
